Terrils of 11/19

The black mountains of Loos-en-Gohelle

As a little History, the numbers refers the old mine shaft’s numbers, 11 to the metal headframe in the 20’s ( built in 1894, destroyed while the Great War and rebuilt after ) and 19 to the concrete concentration tower in 1960.
After the louvre Lens, the base of 11/19 of Loos-en-Gohelle is one of the favorite place to visit.
Both for its large spaces for walks and sporting activities as for it’s mining history.
And the advantage is thos terrils are situated less than 3 kilometers from the Louvre Lens.
